Contests
SJYML - South Jersey Youth Math League was established to give young students an introduction into the world of competitive math and a head start for higher level math courses. This program is designed for kids aged 8-14 and targets elementary and middle school students. Contests encompass a variety of math topics and various subjects. There will be 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th grade tests respectively. Tests are designed to give enthusiastic math students a challenge and develop an interest in out-of-the-box thinking.
Test Takers will have 45 minutes to answer 25 advanced test questions varying in difficulty. Tests will be scored immediately following completion. Competitions will run bi-weekly.
Participation is free, and it is optional to bring school supplies for donation. All school supplies and admission costs will be donated to inner city schools as part of Strive For Supplies donation effort.
Dates and Locations TBD. If you are interested in participating, contact strive for supplies via email at [email protected] or call 856-533-0616.

Classes
In addition to running regular contests, SJYML will hold supplemental classes (free of charge), where experienced high school students will teach concepts covered on the tests to students in grades 3-8.
Material covered during these classes will likely differ from traditional what is taught in traditional elementary/middle school math classes and will focus on developing problem solving skills as well as creative thinking.
